And Down the Stretch They Come

Here are the remaning teams on the Twins schedule (not counting today's against Cleveland):
Boston, Baltimore, Kansas City, and Chicago. If the Twins can get to Chicago winning a majority of their games, they'll be sitting pretty. THose four teams combine for a 284-313 record (0.475). The Tigers' remaining opponents (CHW, TOR, BAL, KC) are a combined 283-314 (0.474) and the White Sox'* remaning opponents (SEA, MIN, CLE, DET) are 315-276 (0.532).

Detroit and the Twins both get to play Baltimore and Kansas City, while not having to play each other. The White Sox, on the other hand, get stuck playing both the Twins and Tigers. ** The table appears to be set for the Twins, now it's time to go out and keep winning.

* Is sox' the proper way to show possession of that word? If you spelled it right, it be Socks', so I think Sox' would be right. Or is it Sox's? Soxs'?

** Is it OK to root for Chicago to beat Detroit to help the Twins take the division if it means the Sox are coming up behind them? Or do you just say that the Wild Card is fine and hope the Tigers knock the Sox down a few games to diminish their chances at anything?
