The Odessey of Rob Bowen
So I'm watching the Cardinals-Padres game tonight with my roommate Q. Q is an Astros fan, so he has a vested interest in the Cardinals well-being. Then who do I see catching for the Padres but Rob Bowen. I hadn't realized he was no longer in the Twins' system. He's hitting .233/.327/.356 with 2 HR and 12 RBI in 90 AB over 90 games for San Diego this year. I wondered how he got to the Padres, so I looked it up. Someone of as little consequence of Rob Bowen is hard to track down, but I did it. Here it is, in reverse chronological order:
May 28th, 2006 - San Diego Padres reinstated C Rob Bowen from the 15-day disabled list;
May 12th, 2006 - San Diego Padres placed C Rob Bowen on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb sprain
April 3rd, 2006 - San Diego Padres claimed C Rob Bowen off outright waivers from the Detroit Tigers
August 26th, 2004 - Rob Bowen goes 0-3 vs. Texas in last big-league AB for the Twins
